Shraddhaa Sooktam for developing extreme self-confidence
The word shaddhaa is normally translated as “faith”. It would be more appropriate to say it is “faith in oneself”; in other words, “self-confidence”. All of us need self-confidence to accomplish simple as well as complex tasks. Even for sending our child to school we need to have the self-confidence that our child will learn something useful in school and return home safely afterwards. For starting a new business or to get into a marital relationship, we need rock-solid self-confidence.
It is this solid self-confidence or shraddhaa that helps us to tide over difficult times which invariably confront all of us.
Veda mantras are a source of great power and clarity. By chanting Shraddhaa Sooktam regularly, you will develop a rock-solid self-confidence that will make you stand unshaken like a mountain to face any storm that may arise in your life.
In fact the Rgvidhaana, which is the manual for “Rigveda-in-daily-practice”, advises all breastfeeding mothers to listen / chant Shraddhaa Sooktam and Medhaa Sooktam while nursing their infant. Shraddhaa Sooktam will develop your infant’s self-confidence and a create a deep sense of ownership towards life while the Medhaa Sooktam develops “Medhaa Shakti” or “betters of intellect” in the child [Medhaa Shakti = instant grasp, very sharp memory and instant recall of any subject throughout your child’s life.]
Parents are more worried these days about their children’s education and performance at school. Instead chanting Shraddhaa Sooktam and Medhaa Sooktam everyday in their presence while the child is sleeping will be extremely beneficial.
