How do we diagnose using Nadi Pariksha?

Diagnosis is the most crucial part of any treatment. A complete diagnosis includes the body, thoughts, feelings and emotions that affect the body.

Nadi Pariksha is the only method of diagnosis that includes the investigation of the body, thoughts, feelings and emotions.

A vaidya will place his three middle fingers just behind your wrist, on your forearm. The sensitivity with which the vaidya feels the pulse makes all the difference.

Vata dosha is exceptionally feeble. So, the vaidya must not apply pressure while feeling your pulse, and he barely touches your skin; otherwise, he will fail to get that information! Then, there are moments when he will also apply pressure to feel the deeper pulse. The vaidya will collect all this information in a detailed data collection sheet to evaluate once he has finished the diagnosis.

The evaluation procedure connects the dots between the symptom and its root cause. This procedure is necessary so that the vaidya can prepare a thorough treatment plan.

It is different from other methods of diagnosis because, here, the doctor doesn’t have to ask the patient any questions before performing the diagnosis. The doctor can identify the symptom and its root cause by feeling the patient’s radial artery pulse.

At Nadichikitsa Wellness Pvt Ltd., Dr Mahesh Krishnamurthy practices Nadi Pariksha. He comes with an experience of over 20 years in this method of pulse diagnosis.
